North American Car of the Year is 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Every year at the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit, a panel of automotive experts and journalists choose what they believe to be the best new car of the year. At this year’s show, held last month, the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV was named the North American Car of the Year.

This award is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the automotive industry. It is the Bolt EV’s latest award in a long list of accolades that includes the Motor Trend 2017 Car of the Year, a spot on Car and Driver’s 10Best Cars list, and more.

“The Bolt EV fulfills Chevrolet’s promise to offer an affordable, long-range electric,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president, GM Global Product Development. “It is a game-changer that is not only a great electric vehicle; it’s a great vehicle — period.”

With the all-new Bolt EV, buyers across the country will get to experience an electric car unlike any other. It offers an EPA-estimated 238 miles of range when fully charged. It has a starting price of $37,495; however, many buyers may be able to qualify for a federal tax incentive up to $7,500, making the Bolt EV cost less than $30,000.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has already started arriving at dealerships and will be available nationwide by mid-2017.
